Venova is a female founded and led company at the forefront of scientific innovation. With an incredible team and important mission, they are in the process of developing a new, hormone-free and copper-free birth control solution.
As a part of Scout, a student-led design organization, I led a team of designers and developers who created a brand and website for Venova. The process spanned brand discovery and identity development to structuring and coding a website from scratch.

The Brand and the Users
The first step for our team was twofold. On one hand, we had to work with the client to fully understand Venova’s personality and identity, and what image should be conveyed to the world. On the other hand, it was crucial to determine what users wanted and needed from the website.
We therefore worked simultaneously to develop a brand identity and create/research the structure of the website.
Once we had a low-fidelity sitemap and solidified tech requirements, we jumped into creating a visual identity for Venova. This included everything from a logo and typography to iconography and color palette.
After user testing our lo-fi prototype, we began development on the website. The designers and developers on the team worked together to create a product that was easy to navigate, corresponded to the brand identity, and provided the user with all the information they needed.
